Trail Overview
Kasteelspoort is a scenic route up Table Mountain’s Twelve Apostles range and a great alternative to busier trails. The hike covers about 5 km and is strenuous yet accessible for those with good endurance, taking 3-5 hours to complete. There is minimal scrambling and only a few ladders leading to the Cableway. Along the way, hikers enjoy sweeping views Camps Bay, Lion’s Head, the Twelve Apostles, and the Atlantic Ocean. The trail offers both challenge and tranquility and is best known for the iconic “Diving Board” rock formation. Ideal for hikers seeking a less crowded but rewarding climb, it combines flowing scenery with versatile route options and unforgettable photo opportunities. (Should the cableway be closed due to weather or operational reasons, your guide will lead you safely down one of the mountain's established alternative descent routes. This may incur an extra charge.)
