Trail Overview

The hike begins at the lush Kirstenbosch Garden and offers a rugged yet enchanting journey up the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, featuring rocky paths, stone steps, and wooden ladders that wind through steep Afromontane Forest. Hikers are rewarded with streams, unique flora, and a shaded canopy, making it an ideal escape for nature lovers seeking a cooler, greener alternative. It takes 4-5 to complete and there are a few options available for the descent depending on fitness and sense of adventure. The trail combines adventure with natural beauty while providing a challenging but rewarding climb to the summit. (Should the cableway be closed due to weather or operational reasons, your guide will lead you safely down one of the mountain's established alternative descent routes. This may incur an extra charge.)
